WALNUT SPOON BISCUITS

I LOVE BISCUITS IN THE MORNING! I ALSO
LOVE WALNUTS AND FLAX SEED. MARTHA
STEWART WOULD FROWN ON THE FACT THAT
I DO NOT FOLLOW RULES OF BAKING, HOWEVER.
I USE A CAST IRON SKILLET SPRAYED WITH
OLIVE OIL SPRAY AND SPOON THEM INTO BALLS.
YOU CAN ADD CINNIMON AND SPICES, CURRY
POWDER, PAPRIKA TO THE MIX. I MAY EVEN ADD
SOME CANNED SWEET POTATOES WITH THE
LIQUID. DRIED CRANBERRIES ARE GREAT ALSO.
THE PLAIN YOGURT GIVES A TANG. USE MILK
OR CREAM OR JUICE, IF YOU LIKE.

425 DEGREE OVEN 20 MINUTES


3/4 C. WHITE WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
1/4C. ROLLED OATS
1 OR 2 TABLSPOONS FLAX SEED MEAL
1 ROUNDED TSP BAKING POWDER
1/8 TSP SALT TO TASTE
3 TBSP CANNOLA OIL
A SPRINKLING OF NUT MEG

STIR UNTIL THE OIL IS DISPERSED INTO THE
DRY INGR. NOW ADD:

TWO HANDFULLS WALNUTS
DRIED CRANBERRIES IF YOU LIKE

ADD PLAIN YOGURT TILL THE MIX IS GETTING SOFT
AND ADD WATER TILL YOU GET THE FEELING OF
A DOUGH. NOT TOO DRY (POWDERY) OR NOT TOO
LOOSE (ADD A BIT OF FLOUR TO STIFFEN DOUGH).

THEY SHOULD NOT GIVE MUCH, WHEN YOU TOUCH
THE FINISHED PRODUCT AND SHOULD BE GOLDEN.
